- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 cup basmati rice (rinsed)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper; sear for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Sauté minced garlic and diced onion until translucent. Add heavy cream and chicken broth; stir to combine.
- Mix in thyme, rosemary, oregano, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Stir in rinsed basmati rice; bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
- Return chicken on top of rice; cover for an additional 5 minutes to meld flavors.
