- 2 lbs lamb shoulder or leg, cut into chunks
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown lamb chunks on all sides for about 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add grated ginger and cook for another minute.
- Stir in spices (curry powder, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, chili powder) and cook for an additional minute.
- Transfer the sautéed mixture to a slow cooker. Add browned lamb and diced tomatoes; stir to combine.
