  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, egg, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with eggs, vanilla extract, melted butter, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until creamy.
  5. Pour the gooey filling over the batter without mixing.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until set; it may still jiggle slightly in the center.
  7. Allow cooling completely before preparing the cream cheese frosting by mixing softened cream cheese and butter with powdered sugar and vanilla.
  8. Frost the cooled cake generously.
