Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups long grain white rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon tomato bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add the rice and toast for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently until slightly golden.
  2. Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, tomato bouillon, and tomato paste. Cook for an additional minute to infuse flavors.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to simmer, cover the skillet, and cook for 15 minutes on low heat.
  4. After cooking time is up, turn off the heat but keep covered for another 10 minutes to allow the rice to steam.
  5. Fluff the rice gently with a fork before adding salt to taste and serving hot.
