- 1 lemon (juiced)
- 3 cloves garlic (smashed)
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup/agave)
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¾ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¾ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¾ teaspoon ground turmeric
- optional: up to ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl or jar, combine olive oil, lemon juice, smashed garlic cloves, honey (or maple syrup), cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, ginger, oregano, and turmeric.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- Whisk thoroughly until well combined.
- Pour over your choice of meat or veggies until evenly coated.
- Marinate for at least 6 hours in the refrigerator; overnight is best.
