  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice or brown rice

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tbsp of butter and add the seasoned shrimp. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Remove from skillet.
  3. Lower the heat and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and stir in parmesan cheese; simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet, tossing gently in sauce for an additional minute or two.
  6. Serve over warm rice, garnished with fresh parsley or green onions.
