Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups softened butter
  • 1 & 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Gradually add flour until just combined; avoid over-mixing.
  4. Press about two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Rinse cranberries and pat dry, then spread them over the dough base.
  6. Mix chopped walnuts into the remaining dough and drop chunks evenly over the cranberries.
  7. Chill assembled pan in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before baking.
  8. Bake for 42-45 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
