- 12 oz fresh cranberries (or cranberry sauce)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup butter (room temperature)
- 1 beaten egg
Instructions
- In a pot, combine cranberries, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes until thickened. Let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly, then mix in the beaten egg.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Press half of the crust mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Spread cooled cranberry filling over it, then sprinkle remaining crust on top.
- Bake for about 40 minutes until golden brown. Allow cooling completely before slicing into squares.
