  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • Pink food coloring, a few drops
  • Blue food coloring, a few drops
  • Cotton candy flavoring (optional), adjust to taste
  • Sprinkles (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy in a separate bowl. Beat in the egg along with vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide dough in half; color one half pink and the other blue. Roll small balls combining both colors for each cookie.
  6. Place cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet and add sprinkles if desired.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft. Allow cookies to cool before serving.
