Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box devil's food cake mix (plus ingredients as directed)
  • 2 cups peanut butter (melted)
  • 1 cup chopped chocolate candies (like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups)
  • 1 cup chocolate candy pieces (like Reese’s Pieces)
  • For frosting: 1 cup peanut butter
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9"x13" baking pan with parchment paper and grease it lightly.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions and pour it into the prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, poke holes all over the cake using the back of a wooden spoon. Pour the melted peanut butter over the cake evenly, filling the holes generously.
  4. For frosting, beat together peanut butter and softened butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt; mix until fluffy. If needed, add heavy cream for desired consistency.
  5. Spread the frosting evenly over the top of the cake and finish with chopped candies and pieces.
