Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced


Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips and mince the garlic.
  2. Marinate the beef in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and cornstarch for about 10 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over high heat; add onions and cook until caramelized (5–7 minutes). Remove from pan.
  4. Add sesame oil to the same pan and stir-fry the marinated beef for 3–4 minutes until browned but not fully cooked.
  5. Return caramelized onions to the pan along with minced garlic; stir to combine and heat through for another minute.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
