Description

Chermoula (North African Cilantro Parsley Sauce) is a vibrant and aromatic condiment that brings a burst of flavor to your dishes. This easy-to-make sauce, with its fresh herbs and spices, is perfect for marinating chicken, beef, or lamb, as well as drizzling over grilled vegetables or salads. With just ten minutes of preparation, Chermoula can elevate your meals and impress your guests. Its bright taste and versatility make it an ideal addition to any kitchen. Customize the heat level by adjusting the red pepper flakes to suit your palate.


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Fresh flat leaf parsley (Leaves and stems)
  • ¾ cup Fresh cilantro (coriander) (Leaves and stems)
  • 2-3 Garlic cloves
  • 2-3 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 Lemon zest (From 1 lemon)
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice (From 1 lemon)
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp Red pepper flakes (Optional, use more or less)
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients into a small food processor: Fresh parsley, Fresh cilantro, Garlic cloves, Olive oil, Lemon zest, Lemon juice, Ground cumin, Ground coriander, Smoked paprika, Red pepper flakes, A big pinch of salt, Fresh cracked pepper.
  2. Chop or process until you achieve a lightly chunky sauce similar in consistency to chimichurri.
  3. Taste your Chermoula sauce and adjust seasoning as necessary: Add more olive oil if you prefer it looser. Adjust salt and pepper according to your preference.
  4. Serve at room temperature as a condiment or sauce with your favorite dishes. If not using immediately, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
